Baby Shark is in no condition to sing after taking a bullet and likely saving a little girl in the process. The 3-year-old was asleep in her bed just before 9pm Sunday when a gunfight occurred outside her family's home in Madison, Wis. "It is believed that there were two sides shooting at one another," said police, who noted various homes and vehicles were hit with bullets, per Fox News. So, too, was the toddler's plush toy Baby Shark, which she'd been holding at the time, reports WGHP. The bullet—which apparently hit a gutter before entering the second-floor bedroom—struck just five to 10 inches from the girl's head, her mother tells WMTV.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Police ultimately found a total of 45 shell casings, which "may very well be a record number of shell casings found after one incident of gun violence," a police rep says, per WMTV. "The people involved in this incident showed reckless disregard to human life," Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said in a Tuesday statement.
