It's a Twitter fight. This one features former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and George Conway, the increasingly high-profile Trump critic and husband of Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, reports USA Today. The spat began when Conway called Republican congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who has emerged as a staunch critic of the impeachment process during public hearings, as "lying trash." Stefanik fired back herself, calling Conway a misogynist, but Haley's criticism brought more attention to it. "This is absolutely uncalled for and disgusting," Haley wrote. "George Conway is the last person that can call someone 'trash.'" Conway then fired back at Haley, mocking her for describing the president as "truthful" in a recent interview. That, he said, is "the very essence of disgusting, trashy, and pathetic—utterly shameless and transparent dishonesty."
Conway also referenced the rumors that Haley wants to replace Mike Pence on the 2020 ticket, notes Mediaite. "You’ll say anything to get the vice-presidential nomination, won’t you," he wrote. Haley, for her part, tweeted a Townhall article noting that Conway posted images (since deleted) suggesting that Stefanik flipped off the camera during the impeachment proceedings. (She did no such thing, reports Snopes.) Guy Benson at Townhall also takes Stefanik's side on this: Conway "called a Congresswoman 'trash,' then further smeared her with a fake image, and rather than thinking better of the whole episode and apologizing, he decided to take zero responsibility and stick with the personal insults," he writes. "Pure class." (Kellyanne Conway got into it with Wolf Blitzer when he asked about her marriage.)
