A group of motorcyclists cruising a California freeway early Sunday ran into gunfire, which injured three of them, two critically. KABC and CBS Los Angeles report that five bikers were making their way south down the 110 Freeway, on the border of Gardena and Carson, just before 2am when someone in a nearby vehicle started shooting. Three riders were hit, though they were able to make it from the spot near the 405 Freeway where the shooting took place to an exit, where someone from the group called 911. Emergency personnel took the victims, all said to be in their 40s, to a hospital. Police are trying to figure out if the shooting was random or targeted. "We're really open to any possibilities that could have caused this shooting, but one that comes to mind is road rage," a California Highway Patrol officer tells CBS. (More shooting stories.)
