Her Parents Were Watching Her Play When Tragedy Struck

They were watching their daughter, not yet 2, play outside when the unthinkable happened. As Giselle Quiroz was in the driveway of her family's Indianapolis home around 6:30pm Sunday, a gray four-door sedan driving close to the curb struck the toddler, then fled the scene, report the Indianapolis Star and People. The parents, who speak very little English, met police officers while rushing the 21-month-old to the hospital, but she later died from her injuries, per WXIN. "Anybody that will hit a child and leave them is kind of sick," a neighbor tells the outlet. "How could you do that?" asks another, who claims drivers always "fly down" the street in the near northwest side neighborhood.
