Ruby Rose made the revelation last month that she'd badly hurt doing stunts on the set of Batwoman, and she even posted an up-close look at the surgery she'd had to undergo to take care of her injuries. Now the 33-year-old actress has offered another glimpse into her private life—this time dealing with her mental health. Fox News reports on an Instagram post Rose put up for World Mental Health Day on Thursday, and in it the Orange Is the New Black star details how she'd dealt with depression going back to her childhood: Her first diagnosis with the mood disorder was at the age of 13, followed by major depressive disorder at 16, then a discovery at age 18 that she suffered from dissociative amnesia, a mental illness that wipes one's memory of major chunks of their life.

What triggered this discovery: Rose said she ran into her former best friend from grade school and couldn't remember her, or things they'd done together. "That is when it all started to unravel and my life changed ... I started asking questions," she writes. Rose also notes she was wrongly diagnosed with bipolar disorder for a long time, spent time in the hospital, and had suicide attempts going back to the age of 12. She says she's since been diagnosed with complex PTSD, an anxiety disorder that emerges after a series of traumatic events, not just one. "What I have learned from the struggles of mental health is just how strong I am," she notes. "You cannot judge people at all because you can never know what they have been through." Yahoo Entertainment notes the support Rose received in the comments section for her post, including from a few famous folks. "Love u Ruby," wrote Hailey Bieber. (More Ruby Rose stories.)
