Elizabeth Warren's performance at a CNN town hall in Los Angeles on Thursday might be summed up in two words: Oh snap. During the event focused on LGBT issues, the Massachusetts senator was asked what she'd say to a supporter who, for religious reasons, believes marriage should be between one man and one woman. "Well, I'm going to assume it's a guy who said that," Warren began, prompting laughs. "And I'm going to say, 'Then just marry one woman.' I'm cool with that." Laughter and applause mounting, Warren wasn't done. "Assuming you can find one," she quipped, per Bloomberg.

She "brought down the house" with "the line of the night," per Business Insider. The New York Times reports the exchange, later shared on Warren's Twitter feed, looks poised to become one of those viral moments that "can serve as a magnet for online donations and bring much-needed attention to candidates struggling to stand out." Not that Warren is struggling too much. Polls show her neck and neck with Joe Biden, who's facing an onslaught from Republicans claiming corruption in the former vice president's dealings with Ukraine, per the New York Post. Biden hasn't clearly defined how he'll push forward on LGBT rights, while Warren backs federal civil rights protections and increased access and affordability of HIV and AIDS drugs.
