House Democrats issued more subpoenas on Monday about the White House decision to delay aid to Ukraine. The leaders of three House committees sent letters to defense chief Mark Esper and acting Office of Management and Budget director Russell Vought demanding any documents related to the financial aid, reports the Hill. Democrats are trying to determine if the White House withheld the money to pressure the Ukraine government into launching investigations of Joe and Hunter Biden.

“The committees are investigating the extent to which President Trump jeopardized US national security by pressing Ukraine to interfere with our 2020 election and by withholding military assistance provided by Congress to help Ukraine counter Russian aggression, as well as any efforts to cover up these matters,” wrote the three chairmen, per the Wall Street Journal. The three are Adam Schiff (intelligence), Eliot Engel (foreign affairs), and Elijah Cummings (oversight). They want the documents by Oct. 15, and there was no immediate response from the White House or Trump, who has steadfastly denied any quid pro quo. (Trump has accused Nancy Pelosi of treason over the matter.)
