Police said Saturday they've made seven more arrests in the murder of a teen who was stabbed while dozens of onlookers recorded video on their phones, CNN reports. Khaseen Morris, 16, was allegedly killed outside a Long Island strip mall in a confrontation with a group of teens over a girl. Now, the day of his funeral, Nassau County Police announced the arrest of seven more suspects ages 16 to 19, who will be charged with second-degree gang assault. Five were charged as adults, per Newsday. Tyler Flach, 18, had already been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Over 250 people filed into Khaseen's funeral in Oceanside on Saturday. His sister, Keyanna Morris, hugged and greeted people and said her 2-year-old son Karter—Khaseen's "best friend"—experienced a glimmer of hope seeing his banner and photo. "Then when he finally looked down and saw his body, he got a confused look and said, 'What, what,'" said Morris. "Then I saw the tears start to form." According to her family, Khaseen walked a girl home from a party and texted her ex-boyfriend to say he wasn't dating her. Flach is a friend of the ex-boyfriend, police say. (More murder stories.)
