If you've been wondering what William H. Macy thinks as the college admissions bribery scandal swirls around celebrities including his wife, Felicity Huffman, here you go: A family source has finally spoken to People magazine about exactly that. Macy, 69, "has seen firsthand how difficult this experience has been on her," the source says, and while he's grateful the sentencing is over, he "continues to worry about his wife’s well-being" as her 14-day prison sentence approaches. "He’s been extremely supportive and very protective of her all along the way," the source says. Another source, or perhaps the same one, tells the magazine the entire family is "talking a lot and spending lots of time together. They’re going for walks, playing board games and having family dinners. They are a solid group and they are leaning on each other for support."
Huffman, 56, was convicted of paying $15,000 for her daughter's SAT answers to be corrected by a proctor after she took the test. Macy was not with her when she pleaded guilty, and he was not charged. Before her sentencing, Macy wrote a letter to the judge on Huffman's behalf: "Motherhood has, from the very beginning, frightened Felicity and she has not carried being a mom easily," he wrote. "She’s struggled to find the balance between what the experts say and her common sense. But I also want you to know that Felicity has raised two amazing young women." Per Us, he also said her relationship with the couple's two daughters, 17 and 19, "exploded" after her actions were revealed, but that the entire family is in therapy to rebuild their relationships.
