6 Dead After Flash Flood Sweeps Away Tour Group

A flash flood swept away a tour group in Hell's Gate National Park in Kenya on Sunday, killing at least six people, authorities say. The Kenyan Wildlife Service says one person from the group is still missing, reports Reuters. Authorities say the flood swept away six Kenyan tourists—including two children—and a local guide. The BBC reports that according to local media, survivors from a 12-strong group that had been visiting the park alerted park rangers, who sent a helicopter to the scene. "The search and rescue operation continues as we reach out to next of kin to share details of sad incident and plan together next course of action," the wildlife service says.
