Strange things were afoot over the weekend in Bergen County, NJ, where a Pennywise doll apparently floated into a woman's backyard when she was relaxing with her boyfriend. Renee Jensen tells NJ Advance Media that the doll, which had strange writing on its forehead, seemed to come out of nowhere Saturday afternoon. "If you saw how many trees we have and where this thing came from, it made no sense at all," she says. "It didn't even hit any of our trees until it was just about to land at our gate." Jensen says she only has one nearby neighbor, and it would have been impossible for them to launch it from their home. She says she at first suspected it was launched from a drone, possibly as a promotion for the upcoming sequel to It, in which Pennywise is the terrifying antagonist.

Jensen, who owns a reiki business, says she "lives in the woo"—but the doll's arrival was too much for her. She tells the North Jersey Record she decided to call police, but the two officers that arrived were as "creeped out" as she was and refused to even touch the doll, let alone take it away as evidence. So she took matters into her own hands. "They left, and then I burned the thing," she says. "I tried to burn it with a lighter. The stupid thing would not light, because it has the flame retardant. Then I put olive oil on it. Still wouldn't light. Then I put newspaper on it and lit it up on fire." She says that after the doll was destroyed, she lit a stick of sage as a "precaution"—and slept with a knife that night. It Chapter Two comes out Sept. 6 but Jensen, who saw the first movie and read the Stephen King book the films are based on, says she's no longer sure if she wants to see it. (Before the release of the first film, police were "terrified" by a balloon prank.)
