Jail officials do not want alleged El Paso mass shooter Patrick Crusius to become the next Jeffrey Epstein. An El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesperson tells KVIA that the 21-year-old is now on suicide watch at the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was already segregated from the general population. The sheriff's office says the decision to place Crusius on suicide watch was made by medical staff at the facility. Crusius, accused of killing 22 people at a Walmart in the Texas city on Aug. 3, is being held without bond on a capital murder charge. Authorities say he confessed to targeting Mexicans and posted a racist manifesto online. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday that representatives from Google, Facebook, and Twitter will join state lawmakers and the FBI this week for talks on countering "hateful ideologies," reports the AP.
