When the FBI arrested Ohio 18-year-old Justin Olsen for making online threats against federal agents and Planned Parenthood, among others, he said he had been joking. The 25 firearms and 10,000 rounds of ammunition found in his home, however, might suggest otherwise. Federal agents say the 10 rifles, including some AR-15-style assault weapons, and 15 semi-automatic pistols were found in the Boardman home the teenager had been living in with his father, NBC reports. The FBI says the teenager first attracted the attention of agents earlier this year with posts under the name "ArmyOfChrist" in a chat and meme-sharing site called "iFunny." They say Olsen posted in support of mass shootings and terrorist attacks, including the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
"Hell even the Oklahoma City bombing shows that armed resistance is a viable method of political change. There is no legal solution," the teen wrote in an Aug. 6 post, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday. "In conclusion, shoot every federal agent on sight." Authorities say Olsen was arrested as he left the home Aug. 7 and is now in federal custody, charged with threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer, the New York Times reports. It's not clear how many, if any, of the weapons that agents found actually belonged to Olsen. According to the criminal complaint, ammunition was found in multiple locations in the home, but many of the firearms were in a "gun vault" in his father's bedroom. A machete was found in the trunk of Olsen's car, investigators say. (More FBI stories.)
