(AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster, File) Another senator is having medical issues: Rand Paul had lung surgery over the weekend, and he announced Monday on Twitter that "unfortunately, I will have to limit my August activities" as he recuperates, but "I should be able to return to the Senate in September." The senator's lung was damaged during the 2017 attack by his neighbor, and he had the damaged portion removed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., USA Today reports. Earlier this year, Paul went to Canada for hernia surgery related to the assault. (Mitch McConnell is working from home after breaking his shoulder.) Report an error
