After a formidable run in trivia, James Holzhauer is getting back to his roots. The Jeopardy! phenom oft-described as a professional gambler is hitting Las Vegas and doing a little, well, gambling, vis a vis the World Series of Poker. As the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, Holzhauer is set to make his debut with a pair of events on Monday: A $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em Super Turbo Bounty and a $1,000 buy-in Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em event with poker legend Mike Sexton, who invited Holzhauer and even ponied up his buy-ins. Don't look for Holzhauer to be making another Jeopardy!-esque run: "I don’t have any plans to enter another WSOP event beyond those two," Holzhauer says. "I played online poker semi-professionally in the early 2000s, but I don’t intend to make a career of it now, as I’m sure I wouldn’t be good enough at it to justify forgoing other opportunities."
