Tornadoes ravaged Ohio and Indiana Monday night, but instead of being concerned about the destruction, some were concerned about missing The Bachelorette. After Monday night's episode was interrupted by a severe weather update alerting Dayton, Ohio, that a tornado was heading that way, a local meteorologist started hearing from fans of the show on social media. "Viewers are complaining already, 'Just go back to the show.' No. We’re not going back to the show, folks," Jamie Simpson said on Fox 45, per Cincinnati.com. "This is a dangerous situation, OK? Think about if it was your neighborhood. I’m sick and tired of people complaining about this. Our job here is to keep people safe and that’s what we’re going to do. Some people complaining that it’s all about my ego—stop. Just stop right now. It’s not. I’m done with you people. I really am. This is pathetic."
Simpson later apologized, but only for the way he got his point across. "Alright. I’m sorry I did that," he said. "It just really bothers me that we have people that don’t care about other people’s safety around here. That’s just ridiculous." Hannah Brown, this season's Bachelorette, chimed in on Twitter: "Lolz too funny, thanks Dayton, Ohio for the love, but be safe. naders are no joke." A tornado did go on to do extensive damage in Dayton later in the night, Newsweek reports. (More The Bachelorette stories.)
