Walmart is out with a report on its social responsibility, and one stat in particular is getting a lot of attention. The chain says its store managers make an average of $175,000 year, reports CNN. Walmart has about 4,700 such managers, and the Wall Street Journal notes that in the biggest of stores, they might oversee 300 employees and $100 million in yearly sales. As for more rank-and-file employees, the chain says full-time hourly workers average $14.26 an hour, while department managers can make up to $24.70 an hour. About half of the 1.5 million Walmart employees in the US are full-time workers, 55% are women, and 44% are minorities. (More Walmart stories.)
