One thing Macy's doesn't have: an appropriate habitat for a cougar. A juvenile mountain lion spotted early Monday in a planter outside a Macy's store in downtown Santa Rosa, Calif., was ultimately tranquilized, tagged, and moved to territory north of the city. Wildlife officials said it was uncommon to see the animal, a male weighing 40 to 50 pounds, in such an urban environment, though it's normal for young cougars to roam after leaving their mothers, per ABC News. The Press Democrat reports the cougar, believed to be less than a year old, likely traveled along a creek connecting the downtown to rural west Santa Rosa. He was relocated by afternoon.
