Authorities in Northern California are continuing to search for two little girls who went missing Friday afternoon after apparently deciding to go on a walk after their mother told them no, reports the Los Angeles Times. "They wanted to go on a walk, mom wasn't ready to do so," Humboldt County Sheriff Kerry Ireland tells the North Coast Journal. "Mom turned her back and approximately 30 minutes later, the kids were gone." Caroline Rose Carrico, 5, and sister Leia Dorice Carrico, 8, were last seen around 2:30pm Friday; family and friends searched the nearby terrain for three hours before alerting authorities. Search parties continued through the night, and found granola bar wrappers that the girls' mom recognized, notes the Times. A total of 10 search teams were out Saturday, with the Coast Guard conducting aerial searches. (More missing child stories.)
