Celebrity / Sarah Silverman Sarah Silverman, Megyn Kelly Get in Twitter Spat The two are in a spat over President Trump, climate change, Silverman's language By Evann Gastaldo, Newser Staff Posted Feb 13, 2019 11:28 AM CST Copied Actress Sarah Silverman poses for photographers upon arrival at the premiere of the film 'Ralph Breaks the Internet' in central London, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018. (Photo by Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP) Sarah Silverman wasn't having it when President Trump called out Amy Klobuchar on Twitter, and ended up in a Twitter feud—which also conveniently plugged one of her movies—with Megyn Kelly as a result. The relevant tweets: Trump: "Well, it happened again. Amy Klobuchar announced that she is running for President, talking proudly of fighting global warming while standing in a virtual blizzard of snow, ice and freezing temperatures. Bad timing. By the end of her speech she looked like a Snowman(woman)!" Silverman: "No point in explaining how mind blowingly stupid this tweet is so I’m just gonna go with F--- YOU." The tweet gets more explicit from there; read it in full here. Kelly: "This woman wants to star in children’s movies produced by Disney. (And just did, in Ralph Breaks the Internet.)" The opening for Silverman to get in some self-promotion was too easy—"Which is out on digital TODAY!" she said in one of her responses to Kelly. But she also got more serious: "It’s true! I am a blue explicit often political comedian and also love doing voices for children. I know it’s easier if people are one thing but no one is, not even you! We all have many sides and I think that’s ok. Peace Ma." She continued, "Ps I’m more offended by a president who denies a real threat 97% of scientists beg him to take action on while creating a fake threat out of at-risk brown people at the border." No response yet from Kelly or Trump, but many of Silverman's fellow celebs chimed in on her side. (Silverman also recently called out her radiologist.) Report an error
