The nurse practitioner found frozen under a vehicle at a Milwaukee County hospital was brutally murdered by a former valet, authorities say. Kenneth Freeman, who was fired by a parking services provider at Froedtert Hospital in October, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 33-year-old Carlie Beaudin, WISN reports. According to court documents, Freeman was hiding behind a pillar in a parking structure when Beaudin stepped out of an elevator around 1am Friday, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Prosecutors say video surveillance shows he said something to Beaudin, then knocked her to the ground from behind as she walked toward her car. Prosecutors say Freeman then stomped on Beaudin's head and neck at least 40 times.
Video shows that he then dragged her into her car and drove her to a different parking structure, where a snowplow driver found her at 3:43am, still alive but with a weak pulse. She was pronounced dead in the hospital less than 40 minutes later. Police say Freeman, 27, called 911 later Friday and said he was involved in the death. He later told investigators he "deliberately and purely murdered Ms. Willa." Court documents do not mention a motive, or why he referred to Beaudin by that name. The hospital says Freeman passed a background check before he was hired in January last year, Fox 6 reports. He was fired for a "non-violent infraction," the hospital says. (More Wisconsin stories.)
