Ken Bellingham says he wrote "Build that Wall" on a heart-shaped cookie as a joke for Valentine's Day. But "I guess the joke is on me," the owner of Edmonds Bakery in Edmonds, Wash., tells KING5 after social media users labeled the bakery "racist" and called for a boycott. "If you want a bigoted, racist bakery, you've found it! They probably don't bake cakes for gay weddings either," the Washington Post quotes from a recent Yelp review. It came after Facebook user Ana Carrera—whose parents arrived in the US after fleeing drug cartels in Mexico in the 1980s—shared a photo of the cookie among others reading "Addicted to Love" and "Believe."

"It's hard to see words like that," Carrera tells KING5. Bellingham has apologized but says a border wall is "not anything that I endorse." Rather, the baker says he tries to be creative with his Valentine's Day cookies and one "was really taken out of context." "If I wanted to make a political statement, I'd put it on a sign and march up and down the street," he adds. He has a defender in Rob Oxford at MyEdmondsNews.com. "This local business owner has been providing a service to our local community for the past 26 years," Oxford writes. "When you're there, ask him about building wedding cakes, not walls." (President Trump says Ann Coulter has become "very hostile" over the border wall issue.)
