Louis CK just went there. The comedian has avoided talking about his own scandal as part of his controversial return to stand-up venues, but the Daily Beast reports that ended in San Jose on Wednesday. "I like to jerk off, and I don't like being alone," the comedian said early in the performance. The reference, of course, is to his admitted masturbation in front of women without their consent. The line received a "good laugh," writes Stacey Solie, who adds that Louis CK also addressed the larger topic of his comeback.
"You've read the worst possible things you could read about a person, about me, and you're here," he told the audience. "The whole point of comedy is to say things that you shouldn't say. That's the entire point." The comedian even referenced the controversy that erupted when he made a joke about survivors of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla. "If you ever need people to forget that you jerked off, what you do is you make a joke about kids that got shot." (More Louis CK stories.)
