"What should have been a holiday trip turned into a nightmare," says the prime minister of Denmark—and it's one that was apparently captured on video. Three more arrests have been made in the case of the two young women found murdered in Morocco on Monday, as police in Norway say a video posted online showing the decapitation of one of the women is likely authentic. The day after the bodies of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, of Denmark and Maren Ueland, 28, of Norway, were discovered in the High Atlas Mountains came the arrest of one suspect who reportedly has terrorist ties; now, four men have been apprehended in the case. Their names were not released.
Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen said Thursday that the killings appear to be "politically motivated, and thereby an act of terror"; the New York Times reports that the four suspects had reportedly filmed themselves pledging their allegiance to ISIS the week prior. As for the video, Deutsche Welle reports it shows a woman clad only in underwear, screaming as she is cut with what looks to be a kitchen knife. "There is no concrete evidence indicating the video is not real," Norway's National Criminal Investigation Service said. The Times reports surveillance footage also allegedly shows three suspects putting up their tent close to that of the women. (Read more on the case here.)
