(AP Photos) As nominees prepare to duke it out at the Emmys on Monday night, a party on the eve of the awards show led to a more literal scuffle between two attendees. Per Us Weekly, an early morning tweet from actor and comedian Tom Arnold was the first hint that the Motion Picture & Television Fund's fundraiser didn't go smoothly. "Mark Burnett just went apes--- & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain," Arnold wrote shortly after midnight, adding, "I'm waiting for LAPD." Arnold attorney Marty Singer confirmed the confrontation to the Hollywood Reporter, adding that Burnett "attacked" his client. Things have been tense between Arnold and Burnett ever since Arnold's allegation that there are tapes from Donald Trump's show The Apprentice, of which Burnett was an executive producer, that prove Trump is a bigot. That includes an alleged recording of Trump saying the n-word, which former White House adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman also says exists. Burnett's wife, Touched by an Angel actress Roma Downey, also weighed in with her own tweet. "Got this bruise tonight when Tom Arnold tried to ambush my husband Mark and me at a charity event," she wrote, showing a pic of what appeared to be the black-and-blue top of her hand. "Is your TV show worth it Tom? Please stop." To which Arnold replied: "Bulls---. You lie your crazy husband attacked me you psycho. I'm filing police report & suing you for defamation." He also says movie director Bryan Fogel has video of the incident. Some are suspicious the fight was nothing more than a publicity stunt: Arnold's show that Downey mentions, The Hunt for the Trump Tapes for Viceland, premieres Tuesday. (More Tom Arnold stories.)
