Wednesday's anti-Trump op-ed in the New York Times by an anonymous member of his own administration gave late-night hosts plenty to talk about. A sampling, as rounded up by the Hollywood Reporter and Variety:
- Jimmy Kimmel: "I have to say, I'm surprised by how good a writer Ivanka is," he said. (Video here.) But he also noted the use of "lodestar" in the op-ed and reeled off clips of Mike Pence using the word. "Can you imagine what it must be like to have a job at which almost everyone who works for you thinks you're an idiot?" he added. "I can, and I can tell you it's no fun at all."
- Trevor Noah: "There's a secret group of people within the White House actively working to curb President Trump, which is wild, because this means this whole time we've been dealing with the watered-down version of Trump!" he said on the Daily Show. (Video here.) His comparison: "Someone came on the PA system and said, 'Uh, ladies and gentleman, the pilot is actively trying to crash the plane. But don't be alarmed, we're doing everything we can to stop him.'"
