A 26-year-old just made history in a way she likely never anticipated. Georgia native Reality Winner received a sentence of 63 months in prison Thursday after she admitted leaking a government document to the media, reports CNN. Prosecutors say it's the longest sentence ever imposed on a federal defendant for such a leak, per the AP. Winner worked as a contractor at a National Security Agency office in Georgia, and she previously confessed to copying a document, slipping it into her pantyhose, and mailing it to the news outlet The Intercept. The document involved an investigation into Russian efforts to hack voting software ahead of the 2016 election. She could have received 10 years. (More Reality Winner stories.)
