The police officer who appeared to not respond to a woman asking for help at a Chicago park resigned Wednesday. Patrick Connor, an officer with the Cook County Forest Preserve District, was on duty at Caldwell Woods park last month when a woman wearing a shirt with the Puerto Rican flag was harassed by a man at the park. Her video of the incident, which included footage of Connor apparently not responding to her requests for help, recently went viral, leading to calls for the officer to resign, the Chicago Tribune reports. Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia said county government must "better address racial and social equity," and the Forest Preserve acknowledged in a statement Thursday that it is looking at ways it can improve in light of the incident.
