He's an icon of British comedy, but John Cleese won't be living in Britain anymore. The Monty Python comic is leaving the UK for Nevis, a Caribbean island, because he's "very disappointed" with his native land, he told BBC Two's Newsnight Tuesday. In particular, it's the "lying and triviality" of the media the Liberal Democrat is fed up with, the Guardian reports; he cited figures from the EU claiming the UK has the lowest level of trust in the printed media. But he was also unhappy with the debate around Brexit, which he called "one of the most depressing things about this country" due to all the misinformation and scare tactics. As for Nevis, it's "one of the nicest islands I've ever been on" and he's heading there in the fall. (More John Cleese stories.)
