President Trump had a busy morning Friday on Twitter, taking credit for bringing the World Cup to the US, boasting about the jobs numbers, and diving into the Justice Department's IG report, railing on FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI Director James Comey. It was another tweet, however, after a slew of retweets of Fox News, that led to a rather unexpected event on the White House lawn, the Hill reports. "Wow, the highest rated (by far) morning show, @foxandfriends, is on the Front Lawn of the White House. Maybe I'll have to take an unannounced trip down to see them?" Trump tweeted. And that's just what he did, surprising reporters outside the White House. Chatting with Steve Doocy, Trump touched on immigration, trade tariffs against China, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who he said has been "great."
The president then called FBI leadership "scum," seemed to agree Comey should go to prison when Doocy broached the subject, and refuted reports the first lady had had a facelift, the Daily Beast notes. Per CBS News, he also revealed that Michael Cohen is no longer his lawyer. He brought up North Korea, noting that "when I was talking to President Obama, he essentially was ready to go to war." It was one particular remark about Kim Jong Un, however, that has raised the most eyebrows: "He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same." When asked by a reporter after the interview what he meant by that, Trump replied, "I'm kidding, you don't understand sarcasm." Watch the interview in full here and here.
