With his romp at the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, Justify made history with more than just a Triple Crown win: The 3-year-old undefeated colt's owners had negotiated a $60 million deal for his stud rights, and the win Saturday added a cool $15 million bonus to that number, bringing his worth to a whopping $75 million, reports ESPN. Coolmore was the buyer, and also owns the breeding rights to previous Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Justify's $800,000 purse in the Belmont brought his lifetime winnings to nearly $4 million—in five races in 111 days—making the $500,000 his owners paid for him as a yearling seem like a pretty good investment. Coolmore's investment might also prove pretty profitable: ESPN estimates Justify should be able to breed at least 250 times a year, collecting $150,000 per live foal. (More Triple Crown stories.)
