He should stick to cars, apparently. Britain's Jeremy Clarkson, best known for hosting the BBC's Top Gear show, made quite the gaffe during a temporary stint hosting the UK's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, reports the Independent. (You can watch it here.) Contestant Alan Horsburgh had to decide what kind of an animal an ibex is—a goat, pig, hare, or deer. He chose deer, and Clarkson quickly congratulated him. "I know the answer," he said. "I'm not even going to look at the screen. That's the correct answer."
The audience cheered because Horsburgh had seemingly just doubled his stash of about $20,000 and moved on to the next round—until the correct answer flashed, revealing that an ibex is a goat and that Horsburgh had actually lost all his money. “I’ve seen them in African bonging around like deers!” Clarkson said in astonishment. "Oh no, you've just lost 15,000 pounds," he said, referring to the British currency. (More Who Wants to Be a Millionaire stories.)
