With 746 home runs, Giants masher and suspected steroid user Barry Bonds is just 10 away from breaking the record. The souvenirs from his run at history, however, may be staying in the family, the crotchety superstar has announced. Curators at the Hall of Fame are concerned that they will have difficulty creating relevant exhibits without the items.
The most recent item Bonds has sent Cooperstown was a practice bat from the 2002 World Series. "I'm not worried about the Hall," Bonds has said. "I take care of me." The slugger carefully marks his gear and keeps it in a warehouse, estimating that he has saved enough to care for the next three generations of his family. (More MLB stories.)
