Syracuse University has permanently expelled a fraternity over an offensive video that fraternity members say was intended as satire, the AP reports. The university announced the expulsion of Syracuse's Theta Tau chapter on its website Saturday. Chancellor Kent Syverud calls the Theta Tau video "racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, ableist and sexist." Syverud says disciplinary actions against the individual students involved could include suspension or expulsion. The video itself shows fraternity pledges "roasting" their brothers and taking an oath to "Tri Kappa," Syracuse.com reports.

"I solemnly swear to have hatred in my heart for n*ggers, sp*cs and most importantly the f*ckin' k*kes," one pledge goes. The fraternity apologized Friday and says its members believe racism "has no place on a university campus." (See the video here, but prepare yourself.) The Daily Orange, which broke the story, reports that another video shows a person sitting in a rolling chair as someone else shouts, "He’s drooling out of his mouth because he’s retarded in a wheelchair." At one point, someone tells others to "get together and (talk) about their significant others while drinking different wines and talking in gay girly accents." The videos had been posted on a secret Facebook page under the name of a Theta Tau member.
