Ron Paul conceded the GOP nomination months ago, but the Texas representative, buoyed by fervent followers, is still out on the stump, looking to the future. “There is no way I could turn it off," he tells Politico. "I went up to Penn State and had 1,500 people. So it’s just sort of going to go on.”

As he readies a book on his political philosophy, his campaign is pushing for a Republican convention speaking slot. His base will be looking to him in deciding whether to support John McCain or go third-party. He and Mike Huckabee combined drew more than a quarter of the votes in the Pennsylvania GOP primary, which  could be a bad sign for the presumptive nominee. (More Ron Paul stories.)
