A Virginia woman found dead last week was apparently murdered by an acquaintance during a vicious argument, the Washington Post reports. Middlesex County investigators say Terri Lynn St. John, 23, whose disappearance last week sparked an investigation, was killed by Alvin Keyser outside her home. "Keyser stated to detectives he confronted St. John at her residence about statements that were made about Keyser," per a sheriff's statement quoted by CBS News. The statement says St. John willingly got in Keyser's van, where she hit him and he struck back, then pushed her out and strangled her to death. Keyser, also 23, apparently confessed to killing St. John and leaving her body in a wooded area.
Prompted by a social media post, detectives say they contacted Keyser on Wednesday and he reached out the next morning. He then took them to St. John's body, which was covered in leaves about a mile away. His relationship with St. John is unknown but he apparently knew her two children, ages 1 and 3, and their father, who lives nearby, WHNT reports. St. John was also living with a boyfriend when she died. Investigators have talked to at least four persons of interest in St. John's murder and all have submitted DNA samples. Keyser has been charged with first-degree murder and concealing a dead body but authorities say more charges are coming and more people will be interviewed. (More murder stories.)
