An enterprising young Girl Scout showed a natural instinct for capitalism when she set up outside a California marijuana dispensary last Friday and sold over 300 boxes of cookies in just six hours, KGTV reports. But she may have also broken the rules. The unidentified scout started getting attention after San Diego's Urbn Leaf posted a photo of her on Instagram with the message "Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today." (GSC is a strain of cannabis formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies.) “She was walking along the sidewalk when we saw her outside with her wagon," Urbn Leaf's marketing director tells USA Today. "That’s when we asked if we could get a picture to help promote her being out there.” The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the scout ended up selling 312 boxes of cookies.

As for whether the scout was breaking the rules by selling cookies outside a pot shop, Girl Scouts San Diego spokesperson Maryl Doyle says it's "not a cut and dried situation." Urbn Leaf isn't on the Girl Scouts' list of approved locations to set up a cookie-selling booth, but scouts are allowed to sell from rolling carts in certain circumstances. Local news showed the scout selling from a wagon, and it wasn't clear if she was actually on Urbn Leaf property. While the Girls Scouts isn't actively investigating the situation, Doyle says they would talk to the scout and her family if they figure out who she is to determine if rules were followed. “As Girl Scouts, we assume good intent," Doyle says. Girl Scout cookie sales continue through April. (More Girl Scout cookies stories.)
