Alec Baldwin has denounced other Hollywood stars who've condemned director Woody Allen over sexual abuse claims. The actor, who has worked with Allen on films including To Rome With Love, made his argument in a series of tweets Tuesday in which he called the ongoing controversy "unfair and sad." In his first tweet, 59-year-old Baldwin noted that investigations in both New York and Connecticut have cleared Allen of wrongdoing.
"No charges were filed," he wrote. "The renunciation of him and his work, no doubt, has some purpose. But it’s unfair and sad to me. I worked w WA 3 times and it was one of the privileges of my career." Allen's adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, has maintained since 1992 that her father molested her as a 7-year-old. Allen has consistently denied that claim. Farrow, now 32, will address her accusations for the first time on television on CBS this week. Previews of her interview with Gayle King air Wednesday, and the full interview airs Thursday morning. "I am credible and I am telling the truth and I think it's important that people realize that one victim, one accuser, matters," she is quoted as saying in a preview. (More Woody Allen stories.)
