A prosecutor called Track Palin a "loose cannon" who caused "significant injury" to his father, Todd Palin, after the younger Palin was arrested Saturday on charges of burglary and assault, but an Alaska judge has now granted him house arrest after he posts $5,000 bail, the Anchorage Daily News reports. Track Palin will have to wear an electronic ankle bracelet with GPS, stay away from the home of Todd and Sarah Palin and any drinking establishments or liquor stores (he's only allowed to leave his own home for work and doctor's appointments), remove all weapons from his residence, and only take prescription medication as prescribed. He also has to use an alcohol monitoring device several times a day.

Todd Palin phoned into the courtroom Wednesday to say the family still wants contact with Track once he's released, though the judge says Track still can't go near his parents' home. The prosecutor in the case got the judge to mandate that he receive a mental health workup within two weeks of his release, KTUU reports. A bit of good news for the Palins, per Us Weekly: Track's sister, Willow, got engaged this week, with Sarah Palin posting a picture on Instagram on Wednesday of Ricky Bailey proposing to her daughter in Rockefeller Center.
