On Tuesday's airing of Fox News' Outnumbered, one guest was literally outnumbered by the hosts as they pushed back against an eyebrow-raising theory he offered up during the program, per Mediaite. Kevin Jackson, a radio pundit and Fox contributor who's been deemed a "serial liar and conspiracy theorist" by Media Matters, which first reported on his appearance, was being questioned about texts between FBI agents who used to work for Robert Mueller's Russia investigation. At one point, Jackson nonchalantly suggested that the FBI may have schemed to kill President Trump. Referring to a text sent by agent Peter Strzok, Jackson said: "And his intent, regardless of whether it was an assassination attempt or whatever, it was definitely something—" before co-host Harris Faulkner jumped in with a "whoa, whoa."
Jackson doubled down: "When you say, 'We've got to make sure that this guy doesn't get in at all cost,' what does that mean? … One thing that we know for sure is that he was plotting in an election against a candidate, and there's FBI fingerprints all over this." Faulkner and a co-host pressed back there were no "credible" sources on this, to which Jackson conceded he'd seen it "floated" on social media. Jackson also added later in the program he believes Mueller will ask for a pardon from Trump as "an olive branch to the Trump administration," eliciting gasps from the show's hosts, per Mediaite. The Washington Post, which says Jackson's remarks are "a case study of how fringe whispers can quickly slip into prime time cable," notes far-right Infowars host Alex Jones talked Monday on his radio show how his "gut" feeling is "operatives in the FBI" are going to try to kill Trump over the next 30 days.
