Fresh off a presidential pardon, Joe Arpaio is once again eyeing public office. “I am seriously, seriously, seriously considering running for the US Senate," the former Arizona sheriff tells the Daily Beast. Arpaio, 85, says he is looking at running in 2018 to replace the retiring Sen. Jeff Flake. During his time as sheriff, Arpaio was accused of unconstitutional jail conditions, abuse of power, and criminal contempt of court. He was convicted on the latter charge in July only to be pardoned by Trump, of whom he was an early supporter, in August, ABC News reports. "If I run, I'm running for him," Arpaio says of Trump. Arpaio, who was defeated in his 2016 campaign for sheriff, says he'll announce definitive plans for his future following the holidays. (More Joe Arpaio stories.)
