With star Kevin Spacey engulfed by accusations of sexual harassment and assault, the producers of All the Money in the World have decided to cut him out of a movie that was already finished. Director Ridley Scott plans to keep the film's Dec. 22 release date, but he is reshooting the scenes that involved billionaire J. Paul Getty with Christopher Plummer instead of Spacey, Deadline reports. The movie is based on the 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, grandson of the oilman originally played by Spacey.
TriStar Pictures announced the change the day after the movie was withdrawn from the AFI festival due to the Spacey allegations. "There are over 800 other actors, writers, artists, craftspeople, and crew who worked tirelessly and ethically on this film, some for years, including one of cinema's master directors," the company said in a statement, per CNN. "It would be a gross injustice to punish all of them for the wrongdoings of one supporting actor in the film." (A former TV anchor says Spacey groped her teen son.)
