President Trump has weighed in on Monday's Robert Mueller developments, and he sounds unimpressed, at least in regard to the connection to his campaign. "The Fake News is working overtime," he tweeted. "As Paul Manaforts lawyer said, there was 'no collusion' and events mentioned took place long before he came to the campaign." Trump on Tuesday also addressed for the first time the guilty plea by former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos.

"Few people knew the young, low level volunteer named George, who has already proven to be a liar," he wrote, before adding a familiar refrain: "Check the DEMS!" The "liar" slam is apparently a reference to the 30-year-old having admitted to the FBI that he lied about his outreach to Russian nationals while working as an unpaid foreign policy adviser for the Trump campaign. (The president was reportedly fuming in private about the Mueller moves.)
