A misstep for Snap? Citing "two people close to the company," the Information reports hundreds of thousands of its camera-equipped Spectacles released last fall are sitting unused in warehouses because of low demand, despite CEO Evan Spiegel's recent claim that some 150,000 sales had surpassed company expectations. In an added slap, Business Insider reports only half of the people who purchased the $130 sunglasses made by Snapchat's parent company continued using them after a period of four weeks. A Snap rep refused to comment on the reports but said the company was pleased that more than 70% of reviews on Amazon give the product five stars. (More Snap Inc. stories.)
