"I went to Puerto Rico and I met with the president of the Virgin Islands," CNN quotes President Trump as saying Friday during the Value Voter Summit. He later added: "The Virgin Islands and the President of the Virgin Islands, these are people that are incredible people." There's just one problem: Trump is the president of the Virgin Islands, which is a US territory.

Trump almost certainly meant the governor of the Virgin Islands, Kenneth Mapp, and the official White House transcript was corrected to reflect that. But that didn't stop the jokes, some of which were rounded up by People. "Trump claims he met with the president of the U.S. Virgin Islands, signaling a major breakthrough in human cloning technology," the Daily Show tweets. "He meets the president of the Virgin Islands daily, in fact," adds CNN reporter Hunter Schwarz. (Energy Secretary Rick Perry made a similar mistake on Thursday, referring to the Virgin Islands as a country.)
