An eerie pattern may be emerging regarding the Las Vegas gunman: After police earlier confirmed that Stephen Paddock rented a room through Airbnb at Las Vegas' Ogden hotel, which overlooked the Life Is Beautiful alternative-music festival that took place the weekend prior to the Jason Aldean concert, comes a report of another booking. USA Today reports a law enforcement source confirmed that Paddock booked two rooms overlooking the Lollapalooza fest in Chicago—which was held nearly two months before the Vegas massacre. The check-in dates at the Blackstone Hotel were staggered, with one beginning Aug. 1 and the other Aug. 3; both had an Aug. 6 checkout date. The festival ran Aug. 3-6.

USA Today says its source didn't confirm whether Paddock ever checked in or was even in Chicago; TMZ's sources say he was a no-show, though the site specifies that Paddock requested a "view room" looking onto Grant Park, where the festival was held. USA Today has this from the Chicago PD: "We are aware of the media reports and have been in communication with our federal partners. As you saw earlier this week the city conducts extensive public safety planning and training around major events, in close coordination with our law enforcement partners, to ensure public safety." The Chicago Tribune notes Lollapalooza typically sells out, with a maximum daily capacity of 100,000. (More Las Vegas shooting stories.)
