Brace yourself for plenty of "she'll be back" quips: Linda Hamilton will have a role in the new Terminator flick being produced by James Cameron, who hasn't had a part in the franchise since 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day. They'll be joined by Arnold Schwarzenegger for what the Guardian reports is the 6th Terminator installment, meaning the "original creative team" is finally back together, as the Hollywood Reporter puts it. The news came straight from Cameron's mouth at a private event. Two standout quotes from Cameron, and a previous one from Hamilton:
- "There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys, but there isn’t an example of that for women."
- "We're starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story. We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we'll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it."
- The Guardian resurfaces comments Hamilton made years ago that suggested she was done after the 1991 installment: "I thought it was perfect with two films. It was a complete circle, and it was enough in itself. But there will always be those who will try and milk the cow."
Cameron recently caught flak for suggesting Hamilton's Sarah Connor
