Ravens quarterback Steve McNair will announce his retirement today, the Baltimore Sun reports. The 13-year veteran surprised his teammates with his decision this morning at a team mini-camp. After leading Tennessee to a Super Bowl, he spent the past two seasons with Baltimore, and injuries limited him to only six games last season.
McNair shared NFL MVP honors with Indianapolis' Peyton Manning in 2003, and took the Tennessee Titans to the 1999 Super Bowl, where they lost to the Rams. The Ravens still have quarterbacks Kyle Boller and Troy Smith, and could be considering drafting Boston College’s Matt Ryan. (More Baltimore Ravens stories.)
