Harvey is getting its proper attention in the US, but another devastating flood is unfolding in a different part of the world. Monsoon rains have triggered flooding and mudslides that have left more than 950 people dead in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, reports the AP. In all, about 40 million have been affected by the disaster, with most of the deaths coming in the northern Indian states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam. The UN foresees a humanitarian disaster with hunger and disease to follow. Click through the photo gallery for a sense of the devastation. BuzzFeed also has images. (More Nepal stories.)
