Alec Baldwin returned as President Trump Thursday night for one of Saturday Night Live's summer "Weekend Update" shows, this time spoofing the president at his recent rally in Phoenix. See the video here. Among the lines:

  • "Now, a lot of people don't know this, but you can damage your eyes when looking at an eclipse," says Baldwin in dark sunglasses. "No one predicted this, they couldn't have. I figured it out all out by myself." (A reference to this.)

  • "There was a tragic victim that came out of Charlottesville: Me!" he says, complaining about media treatment. "I wanted to set the record straight about exactly what I said and I have the transcript right here." At that point, he begins reading a transcript of his remarks from the infamous Access Hollywood tape before realizing the error.
  • "Folks, it's never too early to campaign for 2020. Mike Pence is already doing it."
  • He brings back Steve Bannon, who, in his usual SNL depiction as the Grim Reaper, says, "You've only made me more powerful. I'm going to crush you."
The full SNL will be back on Sept. 30, with Ryan Gosling as host and musical guest Jay-Z, notes NBC News. (More Saturday Night Live stories.)
